“Flimsy” and “Bose” are two words you seldom hear about Bose products, but it is the only way I can describe my Bose Soundcontrol Hearing Aids.

I am a first-time hearing aid purchaser and I chose the Bose Soundcontrol Hearing Aids based on Bose’s reputation. While Bose hear aids have solid electronics, the battery door is a cheap piece of plastic. This design flaw means the battery door falls off when changing batteries. I know, because it has happened to me twice.

I bought a pair of Bose Soundcontrol Hearing Aids in May 2020. After less than a week of use, the right battery door fell off while changing the battery. Bose replaced the defective product about two weeks later. Within two weeks of using the replacement unit the Bose provided, the exact same thing happened. The battery door fell off during a routine change of the battery.

I like many aspects of Bose Soundcontrol Hearing Aids: The sound quality is good and app controller works well. But, the cheap plastic used for the battery door hinge means the hear aids are useless.

There is no mention of this problem anywhere in the Manual or on the Bose website. Bose should at the very least acknowledge this fact in the product design.

I am not certain if I will ask Bose for another replacement or ask for a refund. I will let you know how Bose responds/
